Beard covering is an essential step in a transgender woman's makeup application because it helps create a smooth and even canvas for makeup, ensuring that facial hair does not show through foundation or other products. This step is crucial for achieving a more feminine appearance, as any visible facial hair can detract from the desired look. By effectively concealing the beard area, it enhances the overall makeup application and allows for better blending and finishing techniques, contributing to a more polished and confident presentation.
Steps:
  1. Firstly, after shaving as close as possible, cleanse and moisturize your skin.
  2. Now use a colour corrector with peach or orange tones to neutralize the blue undertones of the beard shadow.
  3. Then use a concealer that is one shade lighter than your natural tone and cover the colour corrected area with a foundation brush.
  4. Next, apply foundation: Use a foundation brush, sponge, or your fingers to blend foundation from the centre of your face outward, ensuring an even coverage that matches your skin tone.
  5. Finally, set your foundation with powder: Using a fluffy brush, lightly dust translucent or coloured powder over your face, focusing on areas that tend to get oily, to reduce shine and help your makeup last longer.
Apply your makeup until you are happy with the results.
Tips:
Make sure you have the correct colours for your skin tone. The wrong colour can make you look orange, yellow or too pale.
Always start by applying just a little bit of foundation, then add more until you have the right amount of coverage. Too much foundation will leave you with a caked appearance.
